I saw this and thought “how lovely”. The idea came from a lovely wedding in America, after the meal and first dance, the Bride and Groom invited all the married couples to join them for a “Special Dance”. At the end of the dance they asked everyone who had been married less than 5, then 10 years to leave the floor. This continued until the last couple other than the Bride and Groom were on the dance floor. The other couple had been married for 62 years! and to honour this the Bride presented her bouquet to the Lady – who happened to be her Great Grandmother – How lovely is that and what a super way to include others and to honour Marriage!

We were very busy with lots of very excited Brides and Grooms to be, together with their friends and families looking for something “Special”. Our “Show Table” was themed Vintage and proved very popular.

The show was very busy and full of excited couples, groups of girls and family groups all looking for those special little touches to make their wedding day dreams come true.

We were often full of interested people asking lots of questions and looking at our displays. I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to all those who had to wait and also to those who missed out. May I offer you an appointment to suit you in the showroom, where all the items on the stand are displayed with even more for you to see! Just email me at sue@rainbow-weddings.com to book your appointment – and yes we are open evenings and weekends when we don’t have a wedding! The stars of the show for us was the “Vintage look” – the display of cream, crystals, bunting and tea cups was very well received, especially the birdcages.  The other star was the tall elegant silver candelabra with and without the flower topper. These are for hire and proved very popular, unfortunately we only have 12 so once they are hired out for a wedding there are no more for that day – so if you would like them call and book them as soon as possible!!

The little “star” as always were the Post boxes, Personalised and flat pack. We even personalised one for Emma and Steve who will be married this Saturday. They saw it on display and asked how long do they take to order? I asked when do you need it? Next week was the reply!  I told them that if they could collect it from the showroom, I would make one for them in time. Details were taken and I made it this morning. Emma came and collected it on her way home from work and I’m glad to say she was delighted! – Many Congratulations to Emma and Steve – Have a wonderful Wedding!

It is held in Middleton Hall and we are situated outside John Lewis. There will be a vast array of Wedding vendors displaying their wares! It is a great opportunity for the Bride and her Groom and or the Family to visit and gain a wealth of ideas, from which they can choose what’s right for them.

This will be the sixth year for us in Milton Keynes. This is a very busy show for us, not only do we meet new Clients but we nearly always catch up with our old Clients and often with their new arrivals – it’s hard work but we love it!

This year we will be launching our “Vintage Theme” This is an eclectic mix of floral prints and pastels. We are very pleased with this look and many of our Clients who have visited our Showroom and had a peep, have fallen in love with it! It is so versatile as the look fits in with the whole Shabby Chick, English country garden theme. We are fortunate to offer the whole look from Bunting, Table centres, candle holders and even a mixed set of vintage crockery. What a lovely theme for a Summer Marquee Wedding or a special “English Afternoon Tea Party” Bridesmaids Picnic or Hen tea party for your Mums, Grannies and Aunties!

It’s horrible to think the worse but this can happen! I have personal experience of a Bride and Groom opening a card from an Aunt, who gave them £50.00 cash, she suggested they open it as she wanted to make sure they had received it! The Bride thanked her Aunt, put the money back in the card and then inside the envelope and left it with the other cards on the table, the money was stolen! How sad was that? Most wedding Gifts were ordered on line but this lady didn’t trust Computers so gave cash instead – which is very common for elderly Guests!

It is not always theft that causes trouble, sometimes its accidental. Cards are placed on the Gift table and one or two fall behind, the cleaning staff go in to clear the room and they get swept up with the tablecloth and off to the laundry never to be seen again! So that’s why we always recommend having one!

The postbox sits nicely on the Gift Table and your Guests are invited to place any cards or small gifts in the box. This ensures that all cards and envelopes are safe in one place and the job of taking them home at the end of the wedding is much easier. We also recommend that a note be added to the Camera Card to ask that the disposable cameras be placed in the box when finished. Very often cameras get lost because Guests don’t know what to do with them and they often go home in someone’s pocket!

Some Brides make their own from a cardboard box, wrapped in pretty paper, some are very simple, others are very ornate! We have seen wishing wells, garden planters with homemade lids, ornamental birdcages and one Bride lovingly made a papier-mâché model of her Bride Grooms beloved camper van! Quite a labour of Love!

We offer DIY boxes for you to put together and decorate as you wish for £6.50, collected from our showroom in Bedfordshire alternatively you can order a personalized post box for £15.50 again collected from our showroom.
