I have been co-ordinating events for the last twenty years – weddings, celebrations, corporate and charity events — nothing is too small or too big for the team at Rainbow Weddings. People often ask “how did it all begin?” so I though I’d write a post explaining the story so far. I began organising events, mostly charity events, summer balls, luncheons, and fundraisers – family weddings and “Big” celebrations soon followed. Friends and acquaintances asked me to organise their weddings and special events. It was at this time that someone said “Why don’t you set up your own business?” Is there a market for it I asked myself?  Well, to cut a long story short, I took the plunge and Rainbow Weddings was born. Since the launch in April 2004 we have been voted the best up and coming company in the wedding industry and we have been asked to write articles in  Wedding Magazines.

With my three daughters, we run Rainbow with style and commitment. The company has gone from strength to strength, developing and changing to suit the current demands of the events business.

This is the story so far:

  • January 2006 came the launch of the Wedding Showroom and also the beginning of the Rainbow Hire service.
  • The first Wedding Shopping Safari took place in 2007 – this is a fun day of accompanied wedding shopping, filled with non stop wedding chat and lunch!
  • Rainbow Diaries went live in December 2007
  • This year, 2008, Rainbow Boutique (on line shop for wedding decorations) will be born!

The planning and the design and decoration service is still our main thrust. Why is Rainbow Weddings so successful? I think it is because we take our job very seriously, each piece of work is unique we don’t take things for granted, each event is different and every one is special – and we never forget that!

The rest of the Rainbow team consists of:

  • Nicky, the eldest of my daughters, she has a baby son and enjoys a busy life! Nicky looks after the “Table Dressing” calligraphy and is Queen of the chair covers and our expert Bow tie.
  • Michelle is next in line; she too is a Mum and also a busy person. She is our resident Florist. She is imaginative and creative and has the knack of knowing exactly what our Brides need. Michelle is also an experienced co-ordinator.
  • Sarah is the youngest of the three, she is our balloon expert—if it can be made from balloons Sarah is your girl! She also loves a good chat and often adds to the blog. Sarah’s latest challenge is the Rainbow Boutique, our online shop. This will go live with the help of Phil Morrow later this year.

All four of us work closely together and have regular meetings where marketing is often on the agenda. Adverts, Wedding Fairs and editorial pieces are often led by me, but are reviewed by all four of us at these team meetings.

So as you can see – Rainbow has it covered!
